At Kings of Salvage, we are more than just a store—we are a passionate husband and wife team on a mission to make a difference. Our journey began with a simple act of helping run a charity garage sale. Through various connections and experiences, we quickly realized the staggering amount of perfectly good items that end up in landfills each year.
This eye-opening realization inspired us to take action. We saw an opportunity to not only save these items but also to save our planet. We emerged from that charity garage sale with a clear mission: to start saving our landfills one salvaged item at a time. When we save our landfills, we save our planet.
Landfills are a significant source of pollution, contributing to greenhouse gas emissions and environmental degradation. According to the EPA, landfills are the third-largest source of human-related methane emissions in the United States, a potent greenhouse gas with over 25 times the impact of carbon dioxide over a 100-year period. By diverting usable items from landfills, we reduce these harmful emissions and help protect our planet for future generations.
